JEAN BOGGIO is a graduate of Allegheny College in Western Pennsylvania, with a BA in Drama.  She went on to earn an MS Ed. in Education from City College in New York, a BS in Nursing from Rutgers, College of Nursing, and a MS in Nursing from Rutgers University.

She grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey, lived in New York City for many years after college, then moved back to New Jersey to Hunterdon County to raise her two children, Julia and Sarah. 

Jean has been an actress, an elementary school teacher and teacher of piano, a professional quilter, the owner of a small service business, a certified organic market gardner, and a psychiatric nurse.  She now lives with her five cats in a house in Maine that she renovated. She has added old house renovator to her list of accomplishments.

Her older daughter, Julia, is a London-based professional photographer (see author photo) http://www.juliaboggiophotography and www.juliaboggiohigh.com who skyrocketed to fame with her YouTube posting of the video of the first dance at her wedding to film maker James Derbyshire.  They performed the last dance of the movie Dirty Dancing and started a trend in wedding planning with three million hits on the site and ended up dancing with Patrick Swayze on Oprah. She, with the assist of husband James, is building their empire.

Her younger daughter, Sarah, was the General Manager of the premier six-screen art house cinema in Maine, but has now moved to Chicago where she recently married Joe Greenfield. The couple plans to pursue education and careers.

Jean's future plans include a move to western North Carolina as soon as the Maine house is sold (see pictures of the NC house on House Photos). That is where she'll begin her renovation career, planning and designing rehab projects. See UNDER THE MAINE SUN for updates.
